The wild tussar silk has its cocoons collected in the forests of Bihar and Jharkand, India. The larvae leave the cocoons before being dried in the sun, resulting in the rustic texture and golden hue of these threads. This silk is spun and woven manually on ancestral looms by families of artisans from the same region.
